Finding a Language and Hearing Pathway
Navigating the first year after a child’s hearing levels are identified.

( View ASL )

For a parent with a child who identifies as Deaf or Hard of Hearing, navigating a world that is often designed for people who can hear can be challenging. With a wide range of resources and professional supports available, often the first step can be developing an understanding of how different professionals work together in support of the development of children and youth who are Deaf and hard of hearing. School teams and APSEA specialists play a pivotal role supporting families as they navigate these communication pathways. Join subject matter experts Jax Warner, an American Sign Language (ASL) Specialist with APSEA and Shae Chapman-Doucet, a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia (HSNS) in this online adult learning program, to learn more about supporting families as they navigate these communication pathways.
