Introduction to APSEA's Deaf Mentor Services

( View ASL )

APSEA’s Deaf Mentors are quickly becoming an integral source of support for students, families, school teams and APSEA staff. With lived experience and first-hand perspectives, mentors support students, families, and educators in building social and navigational capitol by sharing Deaf culture, supporting strategies to build language, acting as positive role models, and more. They can offer support for parents learning ASL and school staff learning playground communication strategies. Harry Purney and Chrissy MacNeil, APSEA’s Deaf Mentors, welcome you to join them for a discussion about how mentor services can support you and your child or student.

Target Audience: Parents and caregivers, educational partners, community members and APSEA employees

Facilitators: Harry Purney, Chrissy MacNeil
