STEAM PEI, 8 Stan MacPherson Wy suite 102, Charlottetown, PE C1A 4V7

Intended Participants: Learners who are Deaf and/or hard of hearing who qualify for APSEA supports and services and their families (parents/caregivers and siblings).

Come and join us at STEAM PEI for a day of innovation, creating and building connections! This event is open to all learners in PEI, NB, NS and NL. Engage with APSEA professionals such as Deaf Mentors and/or ASL Specialists, and fellow families, as we ignite our inner inventors through design and innovation!

Plan for the Day:

STEAM PEI- Activity

STEAM PEI will lead us through an activity of designing our very own invention by making something old, new again! This activity can be adjusted for age of the learner and will allow the learner to create using various materials and technologies.

Independent Exploration

For those learners (or siblings) that are younger, or need a break from the structured activity, an independent corner will be set up for creative play through building and constructing.

ASL Story Time

Led by an APSEA Deaf Mentor or ASL specialist, engage in a story and learn some new vocabulary!

A Pizza Lunch will be provided at no cost to participants.

English/ASL Interpretation will be available

Financial Support

Financial support is available for travel if needed. Please identify this through the registration form.

Registration for this event will close on April 18, 2024 or when registration numbers meet venue capacity guidelines.
