Learning how to have a conversation is important for an individual’s development, career, and social relationships. This course will give students an opportunity to learn and practice conversation skills with their peers and educators. Through modeling, guiding, prompting, and role play, we will examine components of a conversation including starting, maintaining, and ending a conversation.

In this workshop, students may have the opportunity to:
- Practice commenting, while staying on topic
- Identify appropriate and inappropriate conversation topics, reciprocal questions, practice small talk, and manage challenging questions.
- Engage in structured scenarios to learn how to talk and how to listen effectively.
- Discuss and practice using non-verbal cues and physical cues to enrich their conversation skills.
