Exploring Photography: Beyond Selfies and Board Notes

( View ASL )

This group is an opportunity for students to meet and share their interest in photography using their own personal devices. As many of our students use their phones or iPads to take photos for functional purposes, in our group, we will explore taking photos for fun. The group will review some basic photo functions including framing, basic editing, and perspective when taking photos for a variety of purpose. We will explore some of the different types of photography including portraits, fashion, sports, architecture, nature, and travel. Students will have an opportunity to share with each other for group discussions as well as post their photos for a virtual art gallery showcasing their work. This recreation and leisure workshop is open to students in grades 6 and up.

This program is designed to:

  • Support exploration of recreation and leisure opportunities.
  • Build social and communication skills.
  • Support technology skill building.
  • Encourage career exploration.
