This two-part series features a variety of recreation and leisure opportunities. Sign up for one or both, depending on interest.
Workshop I: The Arts
Interested in finding a new hobby? Looking for something other than sports? Join our BVI Mentor, Jennifer Fancy, in a deep dive into exploring recreational pursuits and hobbies related to the arts. Areas we may explore during this program include dance, singing, drumming, woodworking, painting, playing an instrument, and more. Students will have the opportunity to meet guest speakers who are blind or visually impaired and who enjoy these activities, find out about what is available, and how to get involved.
Workshop II: Recreational Activities
Interested in learning more about recreational activities you might want to get involved in that are not team sports? Led by BVI Mentor, Jennifer Fancy, this program will introduce students to a variety of recreational activities that can be enjoyed by people who are blind or visually impaired. We will explore activities such as kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, indoor wall climbing, hiking, and biking. Join us and spark some interest in activities you might like to try this summer!
