As a complement to our student-centred Virtual Learning Series (VLS) programs, we also offer parallel learning opportunities for families and school teams.
When students participate in VLS programs, the goal is that their learning and new skills will transfer to home and school environments. To foster this, we use Microsoft Teams as a platform for program facilitators to share information and content related to VLS programs in order to empower adult family members, school team members and APSEA staff in supporting students’ further skill development.
Joining is easy. When students register for Virtual Learning Series programs, there is an option to provide email addresses. We use these to add participants to Teams. This allows access to regular information from VLS facilitators in one location that can be easily found and referenced at any time. Think of it as receiving email updates from VLS facilitators, except everything is stored in a single, dedicated place.
