Information comes at us, sometimes at a very fast pace and with too much detail. What’s important and what’s not? What do I really need to know and how do I keep it all in my head until I need to use it? We welcome students in grades 4 – 7, or older students who would benefit from additional practice on these skills, to join this program.
In this six-week workshop, students will have the opportunity to:
- Discuss ways in which the physical environment can be altered for proper listening and attending
- Practice asking for clarification, explanations or repetition to ensure information is understood
- Practice using tips and strategies for remembering information
- Perform exercises and activities that can be used to help strengthen auditory memory
