Mother and daughter playing with toy animals outside at a table on a sunny day

Think about what you can talk about while you are doing your daily routines (e.g. getting dressed, eating a meal, playtime, going out). Engage with your child throughout the day and talk about their world. Be the sports commentator. Give a play-by-play of what is happening. Remember that your child needs lots of language input from you. It does not have to happen during “speech time” or “signing time”. It can happen anywhere and anytime!
