What is Deaf & Hard of Hearing Camp?
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Camp is an overnight camp for kids ages 7-18 who are deaf or hard of hearing. Campers take part in a variety of camp activities and have the opportunity to meet other kids that share similar life experiences.
What is Brigadoon Village?
Brigadoon Village is a non-profit recreational facility which has been designed specifically to meet the needs of children and youth living with health conditions and other life challenges in Atlantic Canada. We are located on Aylesford Lake in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.
How do we care for our campers?
At Brigadoon we take great pride in allowing our campers to be kids rather than patients. Our passionate team of staff and volunteers are committed to giving each camper the best experience possible. To ensure the safety of all of our campers, we have a dedicated team of health care professionals on site providing high-quality medical care. In addition, our menu is carefully planned by our Executive Chef each week to meet the health concerns of all of our campers and each meal can be customized to suit any dietary restriction.
What activities are offered?
Our campers have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of traditional camp activities, including: boating, swimming, archery, hiking, wilderness survival, cooking, visual arts, performing arts, and more. Campers also participate in fun all-camp activities like camp-wide games, nightly campfires, a carnival and a talent show.
How do I apply and what is the fee?
You can register online by visiting the Brigadoon Village website and clicking Register for Camp. We understand the financial strain that health conditions and other life challenges can have on a family. Because of this, we have developed a pay-what-you-can fee structure, so that families can choose a payment option which will best suit them.
