The purpose of the Board, on behalf of Provincial Governments of Atlantic Canada is to see that the Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority (APSEA):

1. Achieves appropriate results for the children, youth, and families it serves at an appropriate cost (as specified in the Ends policies); and
2. Avoids unacceptable actions and situations (as specified in the Executive Limitations policies).
