Children and youth with vision loss supported by APSEA form a heterogenous group, and vary in age from birth – 21 years. Their needs vary for many reasons some of which include level of vision loss, age, developmental level and students with additional challenges. Programs and services offered by APSEA intend to ensure students have access to the core academic curriculum of the public school system. Individualized programs are developed from the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) to address essential areas and experiences that are unique to children and youth who are blind or visually impaired.
