Building Functional Living Skills at Home

( View ASL )

Hosted by Jennifer Fancy, APSEA Mentor for Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired, this APSEA Connect Partners in Learning series is designed to empower families in helping to build independence through the development of functional living skills in the home environment. This is a great opportunity to meet and discuss ideas and practical strategies with the mentor; as a professional with firsthand lived experience with sight loss, Jennifer provides valuable insight into what works well in real life contexts. Parents, caregivers, and educational partners with children who are blind or visually impaired are invited to join us in a relaxed online setting where we will share manageable tips and tricks for supporting growth and learning at home. While sessions are set up to complement each other, it is not necessary to sign up for all of them.

Target Audience: Parents, caregivers, adult family members, APSEA employees

Facilitators: Jennifer Fancy
