Safe without Sight is a CNIB and APSEA collaborative event open to individuals from Grades 9+ to adulthood who would like to gain additional skills and knowledge around personal safety while traveling in their communities.
Learners in this program will have opportunities to:
- Learn safety awareness with a community police officer
- Engage in scenario-based problem-solving discussion
- Participate in an introduction to self-defense strategies
- Have the opportunity to engage in a virtual Q&A session with Johnny Tai, a martial artist and self-defense instructor, with the lived experience of being blind with partial hearing loss.
