Maintaining conversations and staying on topic!

We all want to feel engaged and acknowledged in conversations. Join us as we navigate the foundations of being a good communication partner in a fun and relaxed environment. Through guided practice, learners will use strategies to expand and maintain conversations, sharing topic-specific comments and questions with their peers who are Deaf and hard of hearing.

In this program, you will have opportunities to:

  • Practice being an effective communication partner with peers who are working on similar skill development.
  • Increase conversational turn taking through open-ended questioning.
  • Analyze conversations to determine when a conversation should/can end, and a new topic can begin.
