Star Time with Carrie - (Early Learners)

This program is designed to support young children with sensory diversity and additional exceptionalities.

During these routine-based sessions, learners will have opportunity to support sensory, communication, and social skills and develop an understanding about their world, through songs and conversation. The overall objective of our social group is to facilitate an inclusive learning environment and support access to learning for our Early Learners.

Instructional strategies include reducing visual complexity, providing contrast, additional wait time, and embedding a variety of communication tools, to better reflect our learners and support inclusion.

Participants will have multiple opportunities to:

  • Engage with the class (e.g., say hello/goodbye, share the weather)
  • Show and share,
  • Comment and respond

The sessions also work as a completely receptive activity. Early Learners are encouraged to participate to their comfort level.
