Get ready for a weekly adventure in tactile learning! Each month brings a new theme packed with interactive stories, catchy songs, creative crafts, tactile graphics, games, and so much more. Whether you’re just starting your tactile skills or building on what you already know, you’ll join learners from across Atlantic Canada for hands-on fun, and maybe even make a few great friends along the way!
Learners in this program will have opportunities to:
- Build foundational tactile literacy skills
- Explore concepts related to the world around them
- Strengthen fine motor skills
- Increase awareness and understanding of the braille code
- Build friendships and share ideas
- Extend learning with optional follow-up activities
Audience: Learners who are blind or have low vision and whose primary learning medium is tactile.

Session on Wednesday, September 23 is for supporting staff only
First session for students will be on Wednesday, October 7

Registration
Online learning programs are for students who qualify for APSEA services. Registration must be completed by their APSEA Education Support Teacher (EST). Contact your APSEA Education Support Teacher to register.
Students will require:
- Quiet area and device for accessing the program
- Non-slip mat
- Manual Braille Writer
- Braille Paper
- Basic crafting items (glue, scissors, tape, etc)
- School teams may also wish to add tactile items to support the monthly theme
