Are you wondering how to best support a learner who is blind or visually impaired, in your classroom and throughout the school? Join Lesley Anthony, ASPEA Program Specialist (BVI) and Jennifer Hurren, Supervisor for Programs (BVI) – NB, for an informative session on foundational knowledge, practical strategies, and valuable insights to ensure students who are blind or visually impaired feel welcomed and included in your classrooms.

Participants in this program will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear more about APSEA and its Responsive Teaching and Learning Model.
  • Appreciate the distinction between Access to Learning and Learning to Access and the role each plays in meeting the unique needs of students who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Gain an understanding of how the tiered system of support is implemented to ensure equitable access to the curriculum in your classroom.
  • Learn who’s who on the APSEA team, the type of services and supports they can provide to you and your student, and how to access them.
  • Find out where to find more resources and professional learning opportunities.
