A Family Support Group was recently organized for families with children who are Deaf or hard of hearing and held at New Glasgow Regional Library. It was an opportunity for Pictou County families to network and connect through coffee and conversation...and a few treats! Seven families with children ranging in age from 7 months to 10 years old attended.
While the parents talked to each other, the children enjoyed getting to know each other by participating in a range of activities from arts and crafts to reading to free play with toys. Positive feedback was received from both parents and children, with a potluck already planned for the end of the year where we hope for an even bigger turnout!
