Intended Audience: Students learning braille in any grade level
Join us in this year-long opportunity for braille readers from across the Atlantic Provinces to come together and celebrate all things braille! Participants in Braille Club will have the opportunity to meet and work with other students who know or are learning the braille code. Our philosophy is to encourage braille literacy in an inclusive, collaborative, social, and flexible learning environment.
Program Details

This club is geared towards students who may be a beginning braille learner,a student who works best when tasks are shorter, a student who thrives on repetition and routine, or one who needs more support and encouragement to complete a task. The goal is to connect with peers and have fun using braille!

This club is suitable for students who can maintain focus for a longer period, know most of the braille code and use it as their primary literacy medium. Lessons will focus on reading and writing, learning/reinforcing lesser-known contractions and rules, proofreading, deriving meaning from tactile graphics, and practicing activities from the Braille Challenge.
Requirements: a braille-writing device (Perkins, Mountbatten, BrailleNote Touch+, or other refreshable braille display), braille paper, a quiet space to participate (or headphones) and a device to connect to the Zoom meeting. All other materials will be sent out prior to the session.
