Do you know a DHH learner who is curious about American Sign Language? This program is for learners who communicate primarily using spoken English but have an interest in learning basic words and phrases in American Sign Language (ASL). Join other DHH peers in a fun and welcoming environment as you learn from Deaf adults who communicate in ASL.
Note: an ASL-English interpreter will help facilitate the conversations and lessons, as needed.
In this program, you will have opportunities to:
- Meet and learn from Educational Support Specialists – ASL.
- Explore aspects of Deaf culture and become more culturally aware.
- Begin to learn the beautiful and visual language of ASL.
Program Details
- Grades/Age Level: All grades
- Language: ASL with English interpretation
- Schedule: Mondays from
- 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. (AST) / 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. (NST)
- or 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. (AST) / 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. (NST)
- Dates: January 13, 20, 27 and February 3, 10

Program Registration
Online learning programs for children and youth are designed for students who qualify for APSEA services and registration must be completed by the student's APSEA Educational Support Teacher (EST) / itinerant teacher.
