As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we are all adjusting to the changes we are required to make in our professional and personal lives as prevention measures in order to do our part in keeping our communities safe.
The Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority (APSEA) staff work with pre-school and school-based staff to provide educational services, programs, and opportunities for children and youth with low incidence sensory impairments. This includes children and youth who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired who are residents of Atlantic Canada.
As public schools in the Atlantic Provinces are currently closed, APSEA staff continue to work with our education teams in our respective provinces to ensure we are aligning our work with the planning for home learning resources and timelines in each of the Atlantic Provinces.
We recognize that you have questions about how these changes will affect the services and supports APSEA staff provide to children, youth, and families. Please know that we are working to address these questions as plans for continuing education is announced in each province.

As a reminder, please ensure you exercise "COVID-19 safety measures" which includes practicing social distancing, staying home when possible, exercising cough/sneeze etiquette, and frequent (good) hand washing.
